Projects and workspaces

A workspace is the container for your team, billing, and usage. A project is one site or campaign inside that workspace. Research results, audits, Search Console, discussion, schedule boards, and saved leads all belong to the active project.

There is no cap on workspaces, projects, or team members.

Switch project

The current project name sits at the top of the dashboard sidebar. Click it to:

  • Expand or collapse a workspace
  • Select another project
  • Open workspace settings
  • Create a project (if your role allows it)

Work stays scoped to the project you have selected. If a lookup looks empty, check that you are in the right project.

Create a workspace or project

Open the project switcher.

  • Add a workspace when you want a separate team, client, or billing boundary.
  • Add a project inside a workspace for each site or campaign.

Manage a workspace or project

Workspace

Open the project switcher. The vertical menu (⋮) on the workspace row opens workspace settings.

Admins and owners can:

  • Reorder projects and open project settings from the Projects tab (choose ⋮ on a project row to edit name, domain, country, or delete the project)
  • Invite people and set roles on the Members tab
  • Review usage and monthly limits on the Usage tab
  • Rename or delete the workspace on the Settings tab

Members can use every project in the workspace but cannot edit workspace settings. Only the owner can change usage and billing.

Invite teammates

From workspace settings you can invite people by email. They can sign up with that address if they do not have an account yet.

Roles:

  • Member: use every project in the workspace
  • Admin: manage projects and the workspace
  • Owner: full control, including usage and billing

Only the owner can add funds or change the plan. Members and admins see a notice to contact the owner when the workspace is out of credits.

Google Search Console

GSC Insights connects per project. Pick the Search Console property that matches the site that project is for. Connecting on one project does not apply that property to the others.
